How rankings are calculated
All rankings on this page are algorithmically computed from real signals — no editorial curation or manual placement. Each section uses a different algorithm optimized for a specific dimension of plugin quality.
Public repo adoption counts the number of distinct public GitHub repositories that reference a plugin in their Claude Code settings. Only public repos are visible; private or local installs are not counted. A +suffix means GitHub's search result cap was reached, so the real count is at least that high.
Copy clicks count how many visitors have clicked the install/copy button on a plugin listing — this is intent, not a verified local installation. GitHub stars and maintenance score (0–10) reflect repository health — commit recency and commit frequency over the last 90 days.
Trending velocity measures recent copy-click momentum over the past 7 and 30 days, with bonuses for newly published plugins and recent commits. Sparks are a community promotion mechanism — users assign time-limited boosts to plugins they vouch for.
A plugin may appear in multiple lists when it excels across different dimensions. Rankings refresh automatically through cache invalidation and hourly revalidation.
