• Competitor landscape acknowledged (directly or implicitly)

Mechanism Checklist (M: 0-25)

• Novel explanation of WHY the product works exists
• Mechanism is specific (named, concrete, not vague science)
• Mechanism is believable (doesn't oversell)
• Mechanism differentiates from competitor claims
• Mechanism connects cause to promised effect

Brief Checklist (B: 0-25)

• Strategic angle is clear and singular (one big idea)
• Angle matches audience awareness level
• Offer positioning is explicit (what they get, what it costs, why now)
• Competitive differentiation present
• Emotional driver identified and leveraged

Copy Execution Checklist (C: 0-25)

• Lead/hook stops the scroll (first 2 lines earn the next 2)
• Proof elements present (specifics, testimonials, data)
• CTA is clear, single, and urgent
• Mobile-optimized (short paragraphs, scannable)
• Specificity over vagueness throughout (numbers, names, outcomes)

Audit Severity Levels

Rewrite (Critical)

• Missing mechanism entirely

• Fundamental angle mismatch (selling features to problem-aware audience)

Major Fix (Warning)

• Mechanism present but generic/unbelievable
• Weak proof (claims without evidence)
• Research gaps — pain points are assumed, not demonstrated
• CTA buried or competing with multiple asks

Minor Fix (Suggestion)

• Hook could be sharper
• Specificity upgrades available (swap vague for concrete)
• Flow/transition improvements
• Mobile formatting issues

Audit Process

1. Gather Context

• Identify copy type and format expectations
• Note any provided audience/product context
• Determine audience awareness level from the copy itself

2. Audit Against Checklists

• Apply all four dimension checklists
• Score each dimension 0-25 with specific evidence
• Cite passages that demonstrate strength or weakness

3. Triage Findings by Severity
