JM is a general-audience journal whose readers include scholars, educators, managers, policy makers, consumers, and other societal stakeholders. Its mission is to be a bridge between the scholarly and the practical. So the prose must make a substantive marketing question and its managerial stakes legible to a broad reader — not only to specialists in your subarea. Lead with the phenomenon and the question, make the managerial relevance visible early, and keep the conceptual and statistical machinery in service of the substantive story. Write for clarity and consequence: complex analysis belongs only where it advances the real-world marketing insight.
The 50-page maximum counts text, references, tables, figures, footnotes, and print appendices (only web appendices are excluded). Cut redundancy, fold long robustness narratives into the web appendix, and keep the main text focused on the substantive throughline.
