Noob Skill turns Claude Code into a patient builder that walks you from an idea to a shipped, secure, premium-looking app, one step at a time. No jargon. It explains every permission before you click, handles your API keys safely, and runs a security + quality check before it ever says "done."

Like using Lovable — but inside Claude Code, and it actually teaches you.

What it does

• Build Coach — turns your idea into a working app, one step at a time.
• Feature / API Advisor — knows when you need a database, login, hosting, AI, images, or a connected service (MCP), and sets it up — pointing you to the right provider with a safe key flow.
• Design Director + luxury color — makes it look premium, not "vibe-coded."
• Website psychology + marketing — what to put on the page, plus hooks & video scripts.
• Niche research — researches your niche/competitors (strategy & SEO patterns only, never copying) to build you a better original site.
• Security + quality gates — it won't call your app "done" until it's safe and good.
• Permission translator — before any popup, it explains exactly what you're saying YES to.
• Learns you — corrections and tastes are saved to ~/.noob/preferences.md and remembered in every future chat. The more you use it, the more it's yours.

Install

Requires Claude Code. Add this repo as a plugin marketplace, then install the plugin:

Quickstart

1. Install (above).
2. Open Claude Code.
3. Type /noob — or just say "help me build my first app."
4. Answer 2 quick questions and follow the steps. 👉

Safety

• API keys: Noob never leaves a key in your code. It moves keys into a git-ignored .env, never commits them, and reminds you to rotate any key you paste into chat.
• Permissions: every action is explained in 4 plain bullets before the popup appears, plus an automatic banner for risky tools.
• Before shipping: a mandatory security + quality check.

Bundled assets & libraries

Some open-source icon sets and libraries are vendored under skills/noob/extras/ with their licenses kept — see skills/noob/extras/SOURCES.md. Live sources (the 21st.dev Magic MCP, the Iconify API, npm) are preferred where possible.

Sibling skill: Pro

When you've outgrown the hand-holding, there's an inverse skill for experienced engineers: pro-skill (/pro) — same quality bar, but dense, autonomous, senior-peer mode. Noob teaches you to ship; Pro assumes you already can.
