Figure Composer

Use for multi-panel scientific figures.

Workflow

1. State the figure's single claim and list every data artifact that supports it.
2. Draft a panel plan — labels, chart types, data sources, required annotations, and what each panel proves.
3. Style each plot with /figure-style before composing the layout.
4. Render, inspect, and revise for label collisions, axis readability, colour meaning, caption fit, and data-source fidelity.
5. Save the final figure, its source data, generation code, caption, and a provenance sidecar.

Do not invent data or hide excluded data in summaries. When the figure belongs to a manuscript, follow /project-to-paper's figure rules — main figures as composed multi-subplot notebooks, dpi=300 + PDF twin, panel letters, few main figures — rather than restating them here.
