B2B SaaS Growth (5 channels)

1. Content SEO

   • Long-tail PROBLEM-focused keywords ("how to do X with Y")
   • 2-3 anchor pillar pieces + clusters of supporting articles
   • Internal linking + topical authority over time
   • Slow but compounds (12+ months)

2. Developer marketing

   • Open-source companion repo / SDK / examples
   • First-class docs (better than competitors)
   • API-first product surface
   • Developer-targeted channels: Hacker News, dev.to, lobste.rs, /r/programming

3. Product-led growth (PLG)

   • Free tier with REAL value (not crippled)
   • Friction-free onboarding (≤ 3 minutes to first "wow")
   • Upgrade trigger tied to actual usage (e.g., team size, projects)
   • Time-to-value > sales narrative

4. Outbound (signal-based)

   • Trigger on hiring signals (new role X = need for tool X)
   • Funding rounds, tech stack changes, exec hires
   • Personal, specific, ≤3 sentence first message
   • NOT generic spray-and-pray

5. Community

   • Build where the audience IS (don't drag them to your Discord)
   • Discord / Slack / Circle / sub-forum / etc.
   • Champion model: find 5 power users, invest deeply

Consumer App Growth (4 mechanics)

1. Referral loops

   • Both giver AND receiver get something
   • Trigger refer at moment-of-value (post-success, not post-signup)
   • Track activation, not invitations

2. UGC (User-Generated Content) triggers

   • Make outputs INHERENTLY shareable (watermark = sharing tax, OK if value > tax)
   • Native share to platforms users already love
   • Templates / customization → vanity sharing

3. Creator partnerships

   • Micro influencers (10k–100k followers) >>> macro (1M+)
   • Authentic creators in your niche
   • Equity / rev-share / product credit > flat fee for early stage

4. Virality mechanics

   • Content viral: artifact spreads on its own merit (TikTok recipe, meme template)
   • Invite viral: product useless solo, useful in groups (Slack, Calendly, splitwise)
   • Pick ONE — don't fake the other
