If a PR has grown too large, split it retroactively:
RETROACTIVE SPLIT PROCESS:
1. git stash (save current work)
2. Create a new branch from main
3. Cherry-pick ONLY the DB changes → PR #1
4. Create another branch from main
5. Cherry-pick ONLY the API changes → PR #2 (depends on #1)
6. Remaining changes become PR #3
OR (simpler):
1. Keep the big branch as-is
2. Create PR #1 with just DB changes (subset of files)
3. After #1 merges, rebase big branch
4. Create PR #2 with just API changes
5. Continue until the big branch is empty
