Vault Search

Search and explore notes in the connected Obsidian vault.

Instructions

1. Use the search_vault tool with the user's query. Include tag or folder filters if the user specifies them.
2. Review the search results. If a result looks relevant, use read_note to get the full content, frontmatter, and link graph.
3. Follow wikilink chains: check outgoingLinks and incomingLinks to discover related notes the user may not have mentioned.
4. Present a structured summary:
   • List the most relevant notes with their paths and a brief description
   • Highlight connections between notes (shared tags, wikilink relationships)
   • Quote relevant passages when answering specific questions
5. If the initial search is too broad, refine by adding tag or folder filters.
6. If the user asks about a topic, synthesize information across multiple notes rather than just listing results.
