A skill is a markdown file Claude Code knows how to run. When you type /unforget add "API rate limiter sometimes returns 429", Claude follows the instructions in this skill, drops a row into your project's UNFORGET.md, and confirms what it did. You don't have to memorize anything — the skill tells Claude what to do, and the file is plain markdown you can also edit by hand.

TL;DR

• Problem: deferred work scatters across Deferred.md, // TODO comments, plan files, audit ledgers, AI memory files, and your head. Months later, "what's deferred?" requires walking five surfaces.
• Solution: one UNFORGET.md file with four sections (Paused plans / Session spillover / Audit findings / User-reported), each a 10-column rating table with a Target column tied to your release cycle.
• Install: two /plugin commands in Claude Code (below); skill is then available as /unforget in any project.
• Maintain: /unforget add captures a new row in 30 seconds. /unforget promote runs the release-time ritual.
• Rescan anytime: /unforget import re-runs the 6-surface scan to catch new deferred items that appeared after init (new audit reports, plan files, memory entries, TODO comments). Has duplicate detection so it won't double-import.
• AI-ready: the skill wires your project's AI instruction file so future sessions automatically know to read UNFORGET.md when you ask "what's deferred?"
• Maturity: v0.2.0; used through an actual App Store submission cycle in the source project; setup flow specified in detail with two rounds of nondestructive testing.

Install

Run these two commands one at a time in Claude Code. Wait for Step 1 to confirm "Successfully added marketplace" before running Step 2.

Step 1 — add the marketplace:

Step 2 — install the plugin:

/plugin install unforget@unforget

The skill is now available. To verify, type /unforget in any project session; you should see the skill respond. No /skill prefix needed.
