ExecPlan-aware Codex skills adapted from mattpocock/skills
Generate multiple radically different interface designs for a module using parallel sub-agents. Use when user wants to design an API, explore interface options, compare module shapes, or mentions "design it twice".
Interactive QA session where user reports bugs or issues conversationally, and the agent files GitHub issues. Explores the codebase in the background for context and domain language. Use when user wants to report bugs, do QA, file issues conversationally, or mentions "QA session".
Create a detailed refactor plan with tiny commits via user interview, then file it as a GitHub issue. Use when user wants to plan a refactor, create a refactoring RFC, or break a refactor into safe incremental steps.
Extract a DDD-style ubiquitous language glossary from the current conversation, flagging ambiguities and proposing canonical terms. Saves to UBIQUITOUS_LANGUAGE.md. Use when user wants to define domain terms, build a glossary, harden terminology, create a ubiquitous language, or mentions "domain model" or "DDD".
Disciplined diagnosis loop for hard bugs and performance regressions. Reproduce → minimise → hypothesise → instrument → fix → regression-test. Use when user says "diagnose this" / "debug this", reports a bug, says something is broken/throwing/failing, or describes a performance regression.
This is a fork of mattpocock/skills adapted for a Codex ExecPlan harness.
The harness contract is summarized here so the repository is portable across
developer machines and teams.
For repositories that use this harness,
docs/execplans/<plan-name>/EXECPLAN.md is the accepted executable
specification and implementation source of truth.
implementation-prompt.md is a per-pass current-state handoff snapshot.
progress.md, decision-log.md, and discoveries-retrospective.md are
implementation-state files for continuity between agents.
CONTEXT.md and docs/adr/* are durable planning memory. They can inform
ExecPlan authoring, but they are not hidden implementation scope. Any
implementation-relevant consequence from those documents must be summarized in
EXECPLAN.md.
Install and use only these ExecPlan-aware engineering skills for the harness:
execplan-grill-with-docsexecplan-diagnoseexecplan-prototypeexecplan-improve-codebase-architectureexecplan-triageexecplan-tddexecplan-zoom-outCodex installs should copy only the execplan-* skills from
skills/engineering/ into the developer's Codex skills directory. When
CODEX_HOME is set, that usually means $CODEX_HOME/skills; otherwise it is
commonly $HOME/.codex/skills.
The original upstream engineering skills may remain in this fork as reference material, but they are not part of the active global harness and should not be installed globally for this workflow.
EXECPLAN.md.implementation-prompt.md after the
ExecPlan is accepted and unblocked.progress.md, decision-log.md, and discoveries-retrospective.md.If durable docs, repository state, or implementation discoveries contradict or expand the accepted ExecPlan, the agent must stop and report drift instead of silently expanding scope.
Based on adoption, maintenance, documentation, and repository signals. Not a security audit or endorsement.
