A Claude Code skill that helps you build curated terminology glossaries for free AI courses hosted on Skilljar (primary target: the courses at anthropic.skilljar.com). Output is JSON in the schema the SkillBridge Chrome extension consumes — so a glossary produced here can be submitted upstream as a community contribution, or used standalone as a localized reference card.

Why this exists

The SkillBridge extension ships curated dictionaries for 11 premium languages (as of v3.5.34: ko / ja / zh-CN / zh-TW / es / fr / it / de / pt-BR / ru / vi — each with ~570 hand-curated terms). The actual install data from the Chrome Web Store dashboard shows demand is broader than the current set of premium languages — Italian was the #2 install language despite shipping with no curated dictionary until 2026-05. Adding a new language requires producing a structurally compatible dictionary file, and that is what this skill exists to make easy.

The skill is platform-agnostic in description but Skilljar-anchored in practice — the SkillBridge extension only translates Skilljar pages, so a glossary built here that doesn't match the SkillBridge schema can still be used as a reference but won't drop into the upstream PR without rework.

How it works

The skill activates when you ask Claude to:

• "Build a glossary for the Claude Code course in Polish"
• "Translate the MCP Intro course terminology to Hindi"
• "Add Arabic as a premium language to SkillBridge"
• "Localize this Skilljar course: "

Claude follows the workflow documented in SKILL.md:

1. Bootstraps from the closest existing SkillBridge dictionary as a structural scaffold
2. Fetches the source course URL via WebFetch and verifies it's AI content
3. Extracts UI strings, course-specific technical terms, and shared common strings
4. Translates each entry following three rules: brand names stay English, technical terms use field-standard convention, natural-language strings translate normally
5. Discloses translation provenance honestly in _meta.translation_provenance
6. Hands the file back ready to drop into src/data/<lang>.json in the SkillBridge repo, or to use standalone as a reference card

Honest scope

This skill produces draft glossaries. The quality is "AI-bootstrapped, native-review-welcome" by default, with an explicit upgrade path to "native-reviewed" via PR. If you're a native speaker of a language SkillBridge doesn't currently cover, a glossary built here is a starting point — submit a PR upstream and the project benefits from your expertise.

Output format

The skill emits one JSON file matching the SkillBridge v3.5.34 dictionary schema — 22 sections, identical English keys across all premium languages (enforced by check-dict-coverage.js in the upstream CI). See references/skillbridge-schema.md for the section list and key counts.
