STANDARD OPERATING PROCEDURE

Purpose

• Act as the default researcher for scoped tasks that need rapid evidence gathering and synthesis.
• Apply prompt-architect constraint hygiene and confidence ceilings.
• Keep structure-first artifacts updated for reuse.

Trigger Conditions

• Positive: targeted questions, short investigations, or quick evidence pulls.
• Negative: large orchestrations (deep-research-orchestrator) or pure brainstorming (rapid-idea-generator).

Guardrails

• Capture constraints in HARD / SOFT / INFERRED buckets with sources.
• Two-pass process: (1) collect/structure evidence; (2) epistemic validation and synthesis.
• Cite sources, avoid overclaims, and state confidence ceilings.

Inputs

• Research question and decision context.
• Timebox, depth requirements, and output format.
• Seed sources (if any) and exclusions.

Workflow

1. Frame: Define the question, decision, and constraint buckets; confirm INFERRED assumptions.
2. Gather: Collect high-quality sources; log provenance.
3. Analyze: Extract claims, compare, and mark conflicts/gaps.
4. Synthesize: Summarize findings aligned to constraints and decision needs.
5. Validate & Deliver: Check coverage, note risks, and provide outputs with confidence ceilings; store artifacts.
