Every scope item must answer:
Ambiguous scope is a guarantee of scope creep.
Price on value, not hours What is the outcome worth to the client? Price relative to that, not the hours it takes.
Revision rounds are scope "Unlimited revisions" is not a service offer — it's a cost with no ceiling. Define rounds upfront.
Options architecture When presenting pricing, 3 options outperforms 1:
Clients who see only one number negotiate it down. Clients who see options choose where to play.
"Can you do it cheaper?"
I can do a smaller scope for a smaller investment. Here's what that looks like. What I can't do is the same scope for less — that means cutting corners and I won't do that.
"We need it in half the time"
Half the time means half the scope or double the resource cost. Which direction do you want to go?
"We'll sort the contract later"
