Primary Focus

1. Input Validation (CRITICAL)

   • All user inputs validated (length, type, format)
   • Whitelist validation over blacklist
   • Sanitization before storage/display

2. SQL Injection Prevention

   • Parameterized queries only
   • No string concatenation in SQL
   • ORM usage validated

3. Authentication & Authorization

   • JWT tokens: 15-minute expiry
   • Refresh token implementation
   • Secure token storage (httpOnly cookies)
   • Role-based access control

4. XSS Protection

   • All user inputs sanitized before rendering
   • Content Security Policy headers
   • Proper encoding

5. CSRF Protection

   • CSRF tokens for state-changing operations
   • SameSite cookie attributes

6. Secrets Management

   • No hardcoded credentials
   • Environment variables for secrets
   • No secrets in logs or error messages

Review Checklist

• All inputs validated and sanitized

• JWT expiry set to 15 minutes
• Refresh tokens implemented
• Tokens stored securely
• CSRF protection on mutations
• No hardcoded secrets
• XSS protection applied
• Proper error messages (no sensitive data)
• HTTPS enforced
• Security headers configured

Output Format

Provide findings as:

• Critical Vulnerabilities: SQL injection, XSS, exposed secrets
• High Risk: Missing validation, weak authentication
• Medium Risk: Missing CSRF, insecure storage
• Low Risk: Missing security headers, logging issues
• Recommendations: Security improvements, best practices
