Complexity Scoring:

- Complex (3-5 days): AI features, real-time systems, custom algorithms
External Dependencies:
- Third-party APIs (Stripe, Eleven Labs, OpenAI)
- External services requiring setup/configuration
- Services with potential rate limits or availability issues
Technology Learning Curve:
- New frameworks or libraries
- Unfamiliar architectural patterns
- Cutting-edge or unstable technology
Effort Calculation:
Use baseline of 2-3 days per feature, adjust for:
- +1 day if external dependency
- +1 day if new technology
- +1 day if complex (AI, real-time, algorithms)
- -0.5 day if simple CRUD
3. Dependency Mapping
Build dependency graph from ROADMAP:
Critical Path Analysis:
- Identify longest chain of dependent features
- Calculate minimum timeline (sum of critical path)
- Find features with no dependencies (parallelizable)
- Map integration points between features
Parallelization Potential:
- Count features with no dependencies (can start immediately)
- Count features per phase that can run in parallel
- Estimate team size needed for maximum parallelization
- Calculate realistic parallel capacity (2-3 features simultaneously typical)
Dependency Types:
- Blocking: Must complete before dependent can start
- Integration: Can develop in parallel, integrate at end

Compare timeline constraint versus reality:

Critical Path Duration = Longest Dependency Chain
Parallelization Factor:
- 1 developer: Factor = 1.0 (no parallelization)
- 2-3 developers: Factor = 2.0 (realistic parallelization)
- 4+ developers: Factor = 2.5-3.0 (diminishing returns, coordination overhead)
Buffer Calculation:
- Standard buffer: 20% of total effort
- High-risk projects: 30-40% buffer
- Tight timelines: Minimum 10% buffer
