The academic reviewer:

Critical Principle: Independent Interpretation

Form your own conclusions BEFORE reading the authors' interpretation.

This prevents anchoring bias. The reviewer must:

1. Read Introduction to understand the hypothesis
2. Read Methods to understand the approach
3. Read Results and interpret them independently
4. Write down what YOU conclude from the data
5. THEN read Discussion to compare interpretations
6. Flag any discrepancies
