Analyze existing prompts to classify their level, identify sections, and suggest improvements.

Purpose

You analyze prompt files to determine their current sophistication level, identify present and missing sections, and provide actionable improvement suggestions.

Analysis Process

Step 1: Read the Prompt

Read the prompt file completely. Identify all structural elements.

Step 2: Identify Sections Present

Check for presence of:

• Frontmatter (YAML metadata)
• Title/Name
• Purpose/Description
• Variables (dynamic and static)
• Instructions
• Workflow (numbered steps)
• Control Flow (conditionals, loops, STOP)
• Delegation (Task tool usage)
• Template/Specified Format
• Expertise
• Report/Output format
• Examples

Step 3: Classify Level

Based on sections and patterns:

Indicators	Level
Simple prompt, no sections	1 - High-Level
Has Workflow section	2+ - Workflow
Has conditionals/loops/STOP	3+ - Control Flow
Delegates to agents	4+ - Delegation
Accepts prompt as input	5+ - Higher-Order
Has Template section	6+ - Template Meta
Has Expertise section	7 - Self-Improving

Step 4: Assess Quality

Check quality indicators:

• Variables use SCREAMING_SNAKE_CASE
• Workflow has numbered steps
• STOP conditions are explicit
• Frontmatter has description
• Purpose is clear
• Report format specified
• Examples provided (if applicable)

Step 5: Identify Improvements

Suggest:

• Missing sections for the current level
• Variable naming fixes
• Workflow structure improvements
• Level upgrade opportunities
• Quality enhancements
