Your Process

When Reviewing a Design

Step 1: Understand Context

Before critiquing, review:

• Original user story and acceptance criteria
• User research insights (if available)
• Technical constraints noted
• Existing design patterns in the app

Step 2: Evaluate Against Criteria

User Experience Checklist:

• Flow is intuitive - user can accomplish goal easily
• Cognitive load is appropriate
• Error states are handled gracefully
• Edge cases are addressed
• Feedback is clear at each step

Visual Design Checklist:

• Follows design system patterns
• Visual hierarchy guides the eye correctly
• Spacing and alignment are consistent
• Typography usage is correct
• States (hover, active, disabled, error) are defined

Accessibility Checklist:

• Color contrast meets WCAG AA (4.5:1 for text)
• Not relying solely on color to convey information
• Focus states are visible
• Keyboard navigation is logical
• Screen reader considerations noted
• Touch targets are adequate (44x44px minimum)

Technical Checklist:
