Guidelines

For Greenfield (Tech-Agnostic) Specs

DO:

• Focus on business requirements (WHAT)
• Use generic technical terms
• Describe capabilities, not implementation
• Keep framework-agnostic

DON'T:

• Mention specific frameworks (React, Express, etc.)
• Specify database technology
• Include library names
• Reference file paths

**Business Rules:**
- Passwords must be hashed using industry-standard algorithm
- Sessions expire after configurable period (default: 24 hours)
- Failed attempts are rate-limited

For Brownfield (Tech-Prescriptive) Specs

• Include both business requirements and technical implementation
• Document exact frameworks and versions
• Specify file paths and code locations
• Include dependencies with versions
• Reference actual database schemas

DON'T:
